When seasoned real estate professional Matthew Simpson set out to create his own consultancy, he knew the knowledge and experience were there, but the brand was yet to be born. Metis emerged as a new venture rooted in strategy, clarity, and care, offering thoughtful guidance in the commercial real estate space. Our work together began with naming and identity, laying the foundation for a brand world that would reflect Matt’s unique perspective and principled approach.

This project was a true collaboration, bringing together a small but mighty team to shape the visual and verbal foundation of Metis. I led creative direction and crafted the full brand identity system, ensuring every detail, from typography to color to messaging, reflected Matt’s grounded and strategic ethos. Maya Normandi from Aletheia Made brought the brand to life online through thoughtful website design and development, while photographer Aubrey Janelle captured portraits and brand imagery that conveyed both warmth and professionalism. Together, we built a cohesive and confident presence for Metis to grow from.

More than a tagline, Space Matters became a guiding principle for the Metis brand. From the website layout to the printed materials styled for the brand shoot, we prioritized clarity, breathing room, and intentional pacing. The generous use of white space wasn’t just an aesthetic choice; it reflected Matt’s thoughtful and measured approach to strategy, making room for the brand’s message to land with impact. Every element was designed to evoke a sense of calm, groundedness, and quiet confidence because when space is treated with respect, it becomes a powerful part of the story.

SPACE MATTERS

Without a dedicated office, we set out to imagine what the Metis environment could look and feel like. We styled the shoot in a thoughtfully chosen location that echoed the brand’s palette while also offering natural light and architectural texture. Artwork from James Coffman incorporated the Metis bird motif and added layers of visual continuity, reinforcing the brand’s themes of perspective and precision. Outdoor scenes provided us with the opportunity to reflect the color story further and convey a sense of grounded calm that is both rooted and open.

This project brought clarity and cohesion to an idea that had been taking shape for years. Now, Metis has the structure and story to match the depth of Matt’s expertise.
